The talented team at Terre are this evening celebrating the awarding of two Michelin stars at The Michelin Guide UK & Ireland awards ceremony in Manchester. This an exceptional achievement for the restaurant which first opened at Castlemartyr Resort in Cork in October 2022.
On winning the second Michelin star, Chef Patron Vincent Crepel said:
“Being awarded the second Michelin star is the realisation of a lifelong dream and a wonderful elevation to receive from the inspectors. I am so proud of the team and what we have achieved. We have had a fantastic year and are looking forward to welcoming guests again in 2024. We aim to make a visit to Terre accessible to diners and we are fortunate to work with great local and international suppliers who help inspire and shape our menus. Receiving the second star is a tribute to the creativity and standards we aim to reach and maintain.”
The past 12 months have been extremely exciting for all the team at Terre, starting with receiving a Michelin star after just 6 months, garnering superb reviews along with a number of awards including chef de partie Shauna Murphy, winning the Euro-Toques Young Chef of the Year 2023. A wonderful distinction, and a credit to her mentorship under Chef Vincent and his acclaimed team, including Filip Palfi, the esteemed Terre Sommelier and Restaurant Manager.
The Terre menus are meticulously created boasting vibrant flavours and visual appeal and complexity. Fusing traditional French cooking techniques to Asian ingredients for a distinctive and flavoursome menu of dishes that are testament to the culinary prowess of Vincent and his team.
Castlemartyr Resort General Manager Brendan Comerford spoke of the win, saying:
“It has been a fantastic journey seeing Terre establish itself from inception to being awarded a second Michelin star. The work from the team in Terre is nothing short of superb; from menu development and the creation of the Terre biodynamic produce garden to the Taiwanese tea-pairing, making dining at Terre is a truly remarkable experience. Being awarded the second star is a fantastic recognition of the effort, hard work and creativity of Chef Vincent and his team.”
