So much more than an agricultural show, this year’s Cork Summer Show has added several new attractions, including a new Fashion Zone with many of Munster’s leading boutiques, live catwalk shows and competitions for Best Dressed ensure that this year’s show is a very stylish affair!
Floral Art is also a new addition to the schedule with several talks and flower arranging demonstrations. The Association of Ireland Floral Artists (AOIFA) will be adjudicating floral competitions for every level, from novice to advanced, across a number of themes and categories.
For those who didn’t make it to the Bloom Festival in Dublin, Cork Summer Show has ambitions to grow into Bloom of the South, as they have added a horticulture area with demonstrations on Grow it Yourself, talks on beekeeping and more, as well as a special garden created by Down Syndrome charity, Field of Dreams.
As always, there will be an eclectic mix of competitions at the show from Best Scarecrow to Odlums All Ireland Home Baking Championship Qualifier across Cake, Loaf and Round categories. There will also be awards and prizes for Best Marmalade, Jam, Lemon Curd and Chutney, Best Brown Soda, cupcake, Rocky Road and caramel slice, not to mention Best Needlework, Crochet and Knit and much more!
Pet dogs are welcome at Cork Summer Show again this year, once on a leash. The ever popular Pet Dog Show supported by the Evening Echo will run both show days, with the entry fee of €2 going towards Pieta House.
Munster Agricultural Society have lined up another great Cork Summer Show 2018, which as well as all the new additions, will have all the usual family fun, food, live music, vintage vehicles, motor zone, petting farm, craft beer tents and Taste Cork food market.
