Celebrating the diverse and inspiring journeys of artists from across Cork County, “The Road Less Travelled – Artists’ Lives” is a new portrait photography exhibition curated by the award-winning Anna Groniecka. The project is run in collaboration with Cork County Council and will be unveiled on May 10th, 2024 at the LHQ Gallery in Library HQ Cork. The exhibition will run until Friday, 31st May.
This compelling exhibition showcases the life and work of 21 talented artists, highlighting their unique paths through the evocative medium of photography. Participants include Alana James, Alison Glennie, Anne Harrington Rees, Anne Kiely, Carmel Creaner, Etain Hickey, Geraldine O’Sullivan, Harriet Andrews, Jack Kelleher, Jim Turner, John O’Callaghan, Koni Boros, Les Clague, Liz Downes, Maura Whelan, Nora Lewis, Paddy O’Brien, Sinead Crowley, Siobhain Steele, Tadhg Curtis, and Terry Dineen.
Clonakilty-based award-winning photographer, Anna Groniecka is orchestrating the project, which aims to delve deep into the personal stories and inspirations of these artists. Through her lens, Groniecka captures the essence of each artist, bringing to light their artistic endeavours and the roads less travelled that they have taken to express their creativity. These narratives are woven together to create a tapestry that celebrates not only their individual talents but also their collective impact on the cultural fabric of Cork.
