The Kinsale & District Lions Club is proud to announce the return of its flagship fundraising event, the Budget Breakfast Briefing 2026, on Thursday, 9th October 2025 at the Kinsale Hotel & Spa — just 48 hours after Budget 2026 is presented in the Dáil. In proud partnership with Chartered Accountants Ireland Cork Society, this much-loved event brings together local businesses, community groups, organisations, and civic leaders in a unique blend of professional insight and charitable action. Last year’s Breakfast Briefing completely sold out and was hailed as a huge success, with strong local participation and record-breaking fundraising for good causes. This year, there is already huge interest, and the Breakfast Briefing has firmly become a major annual event in the Kinsale calendar.
Keynote Speakers:
- Jim Power – Economist, Author & Broadcaster
Jim Power holds a BA in Economics & Politics and a Master of Economic Science from University College Dublin. He has served as Treasury Economist at AIB Group, Chief Economist at Bank of Ireland Group Treasury and Friends First Group, and has advised parliamentary committees including the UK House of Lords on economic affairs. Jim lectures on the Full Time MBA at UCD Smurfit Graduate School of Business, writes regular columns for The Irish Examiner, and is a frequent contributor to radio, TV, and podcasts including The Stand, Win Happy, and The Other Hand. A native of Waterford, he has held leadership roles in Agri-Aware, Love Irish Food, and Three Rock Capital Management, and is author of Picking Up the Pieces and co-author of Marketing Multiplied & Smart Tips for SMEs
- Minister Jack Chambers TD is the Deputy Leader of Fianna Fáil and T.D. for Dublin West and Minister for Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation, in the Government of Ireland.Minister Chambers is responsible for leading the Department in its mission to provide better public services, improve living standards, drive infrastructure delivery for the people of Ireland and to support the digitalisation of our economy and society.Minister Chambers previously served as Minister for Finance, the Government Chief Whip and was also Minister of State for Sport, the Gaeltacht, Transport & Defence. He was elected to Dáil Éireann on his first attempt in the 2016 General Election and was re-elected in the 2020 and 2024 General Elections.He is a medical doctor having studied at the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland and he holds an degree in Law & Political Science from Trinity College.
