Founder of Hot Pilates, Sharlene Daly, has always believed that strength isn’t just about muscle; it’s about resilience, clarity, and confidence. Her personal journey with Pilates started as a way to manage stress during lockdown, but it quickly became something deeper.

“Pilates is a practice that built me up from the inside out”.

As Sharlene began to grow and build upon her practice, she realised that Ireland had plenty of existing yoga studios, gyms, and fitness spaces, but nothing quite like the Hot Pilates studios she has built today.

“That’s when the idea struck: why not bring Hot Pilates to Ireland? Not just another class, but a dedicated, infrared-heated Pilates studio designed to transform the body and mind. That vision became reality when I founded Hot Pilates in Fermoy, Co. Cork, now recognised as Ireland’s very first independent heated Pilates studio.”

How did Hot Pilates truly begin?

Hot Pilates officially opened its doors in late 2024. From the start, the goal was simple: create a space where Pilates meets cutting edge wellness technology. The studio uses infrared heat panels and controlled humidity systems to provide a workout environment that helps clients sweat, detox, strengthen, and stretch more effectively than in standard classes.

Unlike traditional heating, infrared warms the body directly, encouraging deeper flexibility and faster recovery, making this a true first for Pilates at both a local and national level.

Who is behind Hot Pilates?

Hot Pilates began as a passion project, but it’s quickly grown into a business with a small but mighty team. Alongside Sharlene, the team consists of Kelly, who looks after admin, Amber, who maintains the studio, and instructors Maeve, Eleanor, Emer, Amy and Joanne. The teams ethos? Empowering people through movement.

“Together, we’re creating more than a workout space. We’re building a wellness community in Fermoy, a safe, energising environment where beginners and experienced movers alike feel welcome, motivated, and supported”.
