17th for a casual “Paddy’s Day Dip” at 6am ahead of the 6.30 sunrise, in the hopes of raising funds for the Marie Keating Foundation’s crucial cancer awareness and support initiatives. The couple are asking people to take a dip in a location near them or join them virtually.
Holly Carpenter, renowned for her achievements as a model, celebrity contestant on Dancing With The Stars, and most notably her huge loyal following on social media, has teamed up with her partner Jamie Hunt to rally support for a cause extremely close to both of their hearts. For anyone not in Dublin, the couple are encouraging anyone across the nation to get involved with this ‘Paddy’s Day Dip’, regardless of whether participants find themselves by the sea, a swimming pool, plunge pool, or even their own bathtub.
Since her rise to fame at only 19, Holly Carpenter has utilised her voice and social platforms not only for fashion and lifestyle content but also to champion charitable causes, notably supporting organisations like Dogs Trust, where she has been an ambassador since 2011. However, it is the Marie Keating Foundation that holds a special place in Holly’s heart today, following her father’s cancer diagnosis 4 years ago.
Jamie Hunt, Holly’s partner of three years, shares a similar journey, as he currently supports his father Keith throughout his battle with terminal cancer. Inspired by Keith’s unwavering love for sea swimming, Holly and Jamie found solace and joy in joining him for early morning swims in Kinsale, a tradition they hold dear.
With a shared understanding of the impact of cancer on their families, Holly and Jamie are determined to make a difference. Their fundraiser aims to raise thousands in order to help support the Marie Keating Foundation in its mission to provide vital assistance to those affected by cancer.
Linda Keating, speaking on behalf of the Marie Keating Foundation, expressed deep gratitude to Holly and Jamie for their initiative, emphasizing the profound impact their efforts will have on individuals and families navigating the challenges of a cancer diagnosis. Speaking about the couple, Linda said:
“We are so grateful to Holly and Jamie for their support in organising this “Paddy’s Day Dip”, having faced the impact cancer has had on their own families, they wanted to do something to support others facing this incredibly difficult journey. Funds raised will allow us to support so many people and their families as they face a cancer diagnosis and all the subsequent physical, emotional, and financial burdens it can bring. The fact that this event also gets everyone out, being active with friends and family makes it even more special. Thank you, Holly, and Jamie, what a beautiful way to start Paddy’s Day 2024!”
