From April 8th, The Crawford Art Gallery, in response to growing visitor numbers, will open its doors on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
Located in the heart of Cork city, The Crawford Art Gallery is a National Cultural Institution and welcomes almost 200,000 visitors a year. On Sundays and Bank Holidays the Gallery will offer a fantastic range of events to engage visitors of all ages.
The Lord Mayor, Cllr. Tony Fitzgerald will officiate on opening day at the Gallery at 1.30pm on Sunday 8th April. The Gallery will be open from 11am – 4pm with an action packed day of tours, music and workshop events.
Families, individuals and tourists alike will welcome these extended hours particularly on days when they are not working and can enjoy quality time in one of Cork’s foremost cultural centres. The Crawford Gallery Café, named in the 100 best restaurants in Ireland by John and Sally Mc Kenna, will also open on Sundays and Bank holidays. Offering all day brunch the Café has also been awarded the best breakfast for a visitor attraction in Ireland.
Mary McCarthy, newly appointed Director,” welcomes the Crawford Art Galleries new and expanded opening hours as it creates greater opportunities for people to visit at weekends. This contributes to Corks reputation as a Cultural city and signals Crawford ambitions to be a significant and connected National Cultural Institution.”

Opening hours for the Gallery, Monday–Saturday 10am – 5pm, (Thursday until 8pm)
