November 7 marked the official launch of Go DigiCard in Ireland. Since its establishment in April 2017, the company has sold over 1,000 digital business cards and quickly entered the UK and German markets.
Dublin business woman, Wendy Stunt, founded the company to solve a problem she knew only too well. According to Statistic Brain, 88 percent of business cards are binned within the first week of receiving them. As a member of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce, Wendy experienced this first hand and soon realised that many fellow members were also affected.
“Immediacy is key in today’s digital world and that means that the traditional paper business card is losing its power. Fortunately, the digital onset brings a solution to the problem it’s created, which comes in the form of a digital business card,” Wendy explains.
Go DigiCard combine the traditional business card with online marketing. They connect people on digital channels straight away. Rather than swapping paper cards, individuals send an SMS that shares their digital profile via a business card microsite. This includes a bio, contact information and hyperlinks to their websites and social media channels.
“Great concept and even better product – Over the years using paper cards, I have found you get a small amount of interaction from them. With the Go DigiCard the contacts can be saved directly to your phone and best of all people interact with the things you want them to. Over 300 interactions through my card in two weeks, between website hits and direct bookings,” said John Murray, Director at John Murray Headshots Photographer.
