If you’re looking for a mix of jazz and coastal beauty over the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival weekend, then swing on down to the picturesque town of Kinsale!
The Guinness Kinsale Jazz Fringe Festival has just announced an exciting line-up of more than 100 free gigs for the October Bank Holiday weekend, including Gentlemen & Gangsters, who will headline at various venues over the weekend. The popular seaside town serves up an extra helping of jazz over the weekend and plays a perfect compliment to the main festival jam packed with headline acts in Cork City Centre.
The main act in Kinsale, Gentlemen & Gangsters, play traditional New Orleans hot jazz with a touch of swing and stay true to the style of jazz giants, such as Louis Armstrong, Bix Beiderbecke, Muggsy Spanier, Sidney Bechet, and Duke Ellington. The group plays jazz music as it was meant to be played: with the flair and sophistication of true gentlemen, yet with the grittiness and brute force of hardened gangsters. Anyone who fancies style and music in equal measure is sure to be talking about their performance for a long time.
The streets of Kinsale will literally come alive with music on the Sunday, as a jazz procession winds its way along the colourful town.
Of course, every bar and hotel in Kinsale will also be in full swing with residencies and more than 100 gigs in more than 20 venues from noon until late each day! Highly anticipated acts confirmed for the weekend include Loose Change, String Fellows and Billy Crosbie featuring Deirdre McCullen.

Gentlemen & Gangsters are a stellar act and a real coup for the town,” said Sinead Dunphy, Festival Director of the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival.
The fringe event in Kinsale is run by local Kinsale Vintners, together with Una McCarthy from Diageo.
