Irish technology firm Getvisibility has announced that global telecoms expert Herb Hribar has been appointed as Chairman. The news comes as Getvisibility closes its largest seed plus funding round to date, worth €2.1 million. Mr Hribar led the round, with participation from Suir Valley Ventures, Enterprise Ireland, Smarttech247, Pires Investment and Manifold.
Founded in 2018, Getvisibility is an AI based data discovery, classification and protection platform aimed at helping organisations discover, understand and protect sensitive data.
Herb Hribar has held the roles of Chief Executive or Chief Operating Officer at many major firms in the US and Europe, including Eircom, Kabel Deutschland Gmbh, Cablecom Switzerland, Verio and Interliant. He has also held senior roles at Ameritech and Sprint International.
Speaking about his appointment, he said: “I am delighted to be joining the terrific team at Getvisibility. Ronan and Mark are exceptional technologists as well as business leaders and have created a company I believe will transform, and disrupt the rapidly growing data confidentiality and protection space. Given recent events, we are all aware of the dangers posed by cyber criminals. Getvisibility addresses these threats and enables our customers to identify and eliminate vulnerabilities before they cause harm. With this investment, we can build on the foundation already well established to accelerate growth of customers and technology. I am also incredibly happy to be returning to work in Ireland where I feel a deep connection after my years at Eircom”.
Getvisibility’s founder Ronan Murphy is thrilled to have Herb on board: “Myself and the team are delighted to have Herb Hribar join Getvisibility as Chairman. His experience at the helm of some of the world’s leading Telcos and deep technical experience will be tremendously valuable to us as an organisation as we scale in the business internationally”
The latest investment comes on the back of the company’s accelerating customer growth, its pioneering AI-based data classification technology and rapid expansion of the market. It will be used to enhance go-to-market capability in addition to deepening Getvisibility’s technology and research know-how to accelerate disrupting the industry’s approach to understanding and protecting data.
Getvisibility recently expanded its product, adding Google’s platform capabilities and a new Data Breach Risk report which will help businesses measure and benchmark their security and data governance capabilities.
Getvisibility was also included last week in a list of the top 18 Irish startups, according to six Venture Capital firms polled by Sifted.eu.
