Bobby Mc and The Dukes are making their debut at the Cork Jazz Festival this year from Thursday 24th to Monday 28th October at venues around the city.
Twelve gigs over the weekend will see the energetic six-piece present their exciting blend of swing and jazz, featuring much-loved hits by artists including Michael Bublé, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole and Ray Charles, as well as contemporary favourite, Gregory Porter.
The young Meath performer and his band have been touring recently with a spectacular live tribute show, featuring Gregory Porter’s earthy brand of jazz, soul, and gospel.
Bobby Mc counts Porter as one of his music heroes, and regularly performs fan favourites such as ‘Hey Laura’, ‘On my Way to Harlem’ and ‘Don’t Lose Your Steam’ in his live shows. He was a Battle Stage contestant on The Voice of Ireland in 2013, the same year Porter’s Liquid Spirit album was released, which went on to win the Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal Album.
