Cork City FC has announced a new location for the popular ‘Corky Camps’ this summer. The mixed camps will take place for two weeks in Clonakilty which is the first time the club has run a camp outside the city.
The girls-only camps, which were launched last year, are returning in 2024, with two camps taking place in Bishopstown during July and August.
Cork City FC’s Community and Academy Coordinator, Erika Ní Thuama, said; “The girls-only camps proved to be extremely popular last year and we are delighted to be in a position to bring them back this year. We are really interested in boosting female participation in Cork City FC and it’s great to introduce girls to the sport from an early age. The Corky Camps have traditionally been held at our training ground in Bishopstown but we’ve had lots of inquiries from parents outside the city so it’s fantastic to be running two camps in Clonakilty this year.”
The Corky Camps will take place at Clonakilty RFC from 10 am to 1.30 p.m.
