One of Ireland’s longest running food festivals, the Listowel Food Fair, now in its 28th year of celebrating culinary excellence will once again take place from Thursday 9th – Monday 13th November 2023 in the North Kerry culinary and literary town of Listowel.
The Listowel Food Fair is delighted to announce the eagerly anticipated ‘2023 Best Emerging Artisan Food Competition’ -In Association with Kerry Local Enterprise Office. This competition supports the finest emerging artisan food producers across the country and is a celebration of the rich and diverse culinary talent found in the Irish food sector today.
Speaking at the launch of the competition, Chairman of the Listowel Food Fair Jimmy Deenihan said:

This competition aims to recognise and support up-and-coming artisan food producers across the country, fostering innovation and excellence”.

The 2023 Listowel Food Fair is supported by Kerry Group, Bord Bia, Bord Iascaigh Mhara, Teagasc, Fáilte Ireland, Kerry Local Enterprise Office, Kerry County Council, Tipperary Crystal, Garveys Supervalu and Eno Wines.
COMPETITION DETAILS
The competition features five distinct categories, providing a platform for artisan food producers to showcase their exceptional creations. The categories are as follows:
Baking & Baked Goods
Beverages – Alcoholic & Non-Alcoholic
Dairy – Cultured milk, Cream products, Ice Cream, and Cheese
Condiments – Jams, Chutneys, Sauces, and Food Ingredients
Free-from and Health products
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible, entrants must ensure that their food products are not mass-produced and have been in production for two years or less.

Registration for the competition is entirely free and can be completed by filling out the online form available on the Listowel Food Fair website – www.listowelfoodfair.ie
KEY COMPETITION DETAILS

Judging Date: Tuesday, November 7th, 2023

The overall winner of the Best Emerging Artisan Food Competition will receive a grand prize of €1000, while category winners will be awarded €200 each.
All entrants are required to deliver their submissions to the Listowel Arms Hotel by 9 a.m. on Tuesday, November 7th, 2023.
