Ballinwillin House sits upon 80 acres of luscious pastureland in the heart of the Golden Vale. The high-quality Mitchelstown accommodation is perfectly positioned to explore the ancient and unspoiled landscape at its heart, with its abundance of significant heritage sites and thrilling outdoor activities.
Not limited to these options, your hosts, Pat and Miriam Mulcahy, can develop customised tours, designed for individual tastes.
At the Ballinwillin House Farm, you can view some of Ireland’s first agricultural animals, including deer and wild boar, and even feed them if you dare! If not, you can enjoy watching them roam the pastures. A farm tour must be pre-booked and at €10 per person, it’s not to be missed.
The farm’s magnificent herd of organically fed deer has been a staple of the property for over 20 years. “Our venison products have won awards all over the world and we are internationally recognised for our quality and taste. We are also one of the only producers of wild boar in Ireland. Our wild boar are free range and dig the ground to find roots to feed on. We then supplement their diet with organic oats. The result is meat with great flavour. This breed of boar produces the finest pork products, which we deliver throughout Ireland and the UK.”
Whether you’re interested in mountain biking in the Ballyhoura mountains, exploring the Mitchelstown caves, horse-riding, golfing or just a pleasant walk, Ballinwillin House is an excellent location to stay, while enjoying these local amenities.
