Former Kerry GAA and Australian rules footballer Tommy Walsh has this month joined the team at one of Cork’s top professional services firms, CDS Law & Tax.
The firm’s newest addition, who is joining CDS from EY, is the first appointment by the firm since it rebranded as CDS Law & Tax earlier this year.
Tommy is a Chartered Tax Advisor and a graduate of the Irish Tax Institute, the University of Sydney, Limerick Institute of Technology and AFL Sportsready.
A former All-Stars Young Footballer of the Year, Walsh embarked on a professional career in Aussie Rules, when he signed a two-year AFL contract in October 2009, with St Kilda. Commenting on the signing, General Manager, Matthew Drain said that, “he has enormous talent to become an important player for St Kilda”. Walsh then transferred to Sydney Swans and was selected for Ireland for the 2011 International Rules Series against Australia.
