Spearline Risk & Compliance is an Irish software company offering organisations a unique GDPR-specific software solution, which enables them to easily navigate new EU regulations for data protection compliance. This innovative software solution is as easy to use as it is to implement and it is the customer-focused business ethos of the company that makes them an award-winning success.
Recently, Spearline was named The West Cork Business of the Year 2018 at our very own The Rémy Martin Cork Business Awards 2018! This accolade is bestowed up on a West Cork-based organisation that is innovative and at the fore of what they do. West Cork is an incredible and growing business hub, so this title was hotly contested among nominees but Spearline ultimately won out because they are exceptional at what they do and for bringing growth, opportunity and jobs to West Cork and in particular, to Skibbereen.
“We are absolutely delighted to win The West Cork Business of the Year,” said Ciara Lucy, Managing Director of Spearline Risk & Compliance. “There are a raft of heavy hitting businesses operating out of West Cork, so we are truly honoured with this award.
“Celebrations had at the awards night. The Rémy Martin Cork Business Awards reception was a great evening with fantastic music and company. We danced into the small hours and had a ball!
“We have a vintage piano in our foyer on which we have proudly displayed our trophy. The piano comes from the St Fachtna’s De La Salle College building, a landmark building in Skibbereen, which is currently being renovated to become Spearline HQ!
“We would like to thank our customers, who are always a pleasure to work with. Every part of the Spearline team is responsible for this win, not least the inspirational co-founders Kevin Buckley and Matt Lawlor, who instil a great ethos throughout the organisation.
“We are lucky to have a team really dedicated to serving our customers. No matter what the job title is, the customer is central to why we are here. Strong work ethic is celebrated and we have great team-bonding days here that usually involve cake!”
The parent company, Spearline, has had a very busy year, between expanding their coverage for global telecoms testing and launching a number of value-adds to improve the customer experience even further. “Our customer base is growing month by month and it shows, as we passed the milestone of conducting over 60 million tests! We launched a sister company, Spearline Risk & Compliance, which is our first time operating in the privacy market.
“We have had a great inaugural year with a fantastic GDPR management solution launched and lots of new customers on the books. We are also very proud to partner with the charity Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland. They are doing great work training up and placing assistance dogs with children with autism, who are struggling to cope with the sometimes crippling elements of this invisible disability.”
Spearline Risk & Compliance have quenched the fears of many companies and organisations, when it comes to GDPR compliance. Months later, the company is now hosting a must-attend event, in collaboration with Cork Chamber Skillnet, entitled GDPR 6 Months On – What Have We Learned?
This free event takes place next Wednesday December 12 from 7:30am to 9am at Clayton Hotel Silver Springs, Cork.
“This breakfast seminar will feature industry and subject matter experts on GDPR and what has happened since the data protection rules came into force on May 25 last. Speakers will include Fiona Ryan, Head of Customer Engagement at Spearline Risk & Compliance and Liam Lynch of L2 Cyber Security, as well as a panel discussion on best data protection practice, featuring Niamh Frawley, Operations Manager at Cork Chamber and Linda Tiernan, Project Coordinator and GDPR Champion at Collins McNicholas.”
