The Network Ireland West Cork March event celebrated its 1st year Anniversary with inspirational guest speaker Dee Forbes.
The Director-General of RTE, who launched the branch in March 2018 was joined by Kevin Buckley, CEO at Spearline and Deirdre Waldron, Past President of Network Ireland and Partner at Fuzion Communications. The event took place on Thursday 28th March at the West Cork Hotel, Co Cork and was attended by over 100 of West Cork’s businesswomen. It celebrated inspirational leaders and how they were fearless in the face of challenge on the path to success.
Keynote speaker, Dee Forbes with almost 25 years experience in broadcasting said “be fearless” resonated with her because you must be open to change constantly in the media business in today’s world. She added:
“”It is better to face challenges head on, understand what scares you and master it, this will give you your voice and make you feel like a warrior to face challenges to be a success.”
Speaking at the event, Kevin Buckley, CEO of Spearline said he had to “be fearless” along his journey to be the success he is in Spearline today. He added:
“If you don’t try you will never know and what is the worst that can happen… make sure to be encouraging and inclusive to others along your journey giving you nourishment for growth and learning in your business”.
Speaking also at the event, Deirdre Waldron, Partner Fuzion Communications said:
“You can be shy and quiet and still decide to change your mindset, take the leap, be fearless and go for it!”
She noted that reinventing her inner mindset fuelled her ambition to get out of her own way and comfort zone and said “as individuals, we need to feel energised to be fearless”.
Speaking at the event, Ciara Lucy, President of Network Ireland West Cork said “one year ago we had a dream to bring people together to share stories and connect with similar like-minded people”. “Today we proudly look back over the last year as we now have approximately 135 members joined and are now one of the largest branches in the country, a major celebration for Network Ireland West Cork” which is showing to be a great success with our members. She added “that when you bring people together you most definitely can do more as a region.’
