McLoughlin & Son Decorators have been making over residential, commercial properties and venues since 1964. The McLoughlin name has long been associated with personal service and top-quality results. When William handed the reins to his son Brian, none of those qualities were lost and now Brian’s work and his father’s legacy are being recognised once again.
Recently, McLoughlin & Son Decorators took home the title of The Cork Homes & Interiors Business of the Year 2018 at our very own The Rémy Martin Cork Business Awards 2018!
This award is given each year to a business with creativity and colour and this year McLoughlin & Son Decorators was chosen for their pride and assurance in delivering the very best in style, painting and decorating for both their private and corporate clients.
“We were all delighted to win it against such stiff opposition,” said owner Brian McLoughlin. “I knew some of the other nominees and I was very pleased to just beat them at the post. I’m sure it was very difficult for the judges!”
Brian and his team were lucky to have booked an overnight stay at the hotel for the awards, so celebrated their much-deserved achievement well into the night!
“Once I get [the award] back from my 10-year-old, it will take pride of place in my office next to my previous Cork Small Business of the Year 2017 award.
“I’d like to thank my staff for having to listen to me; at this stage they think I suffer from perfectionism – Google it, it’s a thing!”
When asking Brian who would he like to thank for the success, he gave special mention to those closest to him. “As I’m second generation, it was my father that instilled the principles to me, so I would not have the knowledge without him, but most of all it would have to be my wife, Ursula. She is the lady behind the man, making sure that the show stays on the road.”
