A celebration of the life of Anne Frank in words, music and song performed by The CIT Cork School of Music Youth Theatre
A cast of teenagers perform selections from The Diary of Anne Frank. Each young woman interprets Anne in her own unique way as the ensemble connects with the timeless themes of rebellion, the inward versus the outward self and the search for meaning.
Anne Frank’s story is remarkable, both historically and as an example of an emerging young writer’s personal experience. It is the coming together of these two – the universal and the individual experience – that gives Anne’s story its power. The trials and tribulations of growing up still resonate with teens today and, at the same time, it stands as a powerful testament to the horrors of the Holocaust.
Adapted and directed for the stage from ‘The Diary of Anne Frank’ and survivors accounts by Peadar Donohoe (Creator and Director of The Shakespeare Sessions and The Bullying Prevention Session).
This is the world premiere of ‘I Am Anne Frank’ after selling out its preview run last spring. Tickets are going fast, so don’t delay.
