Cork’s Garryvoe Hotel is one of the country’s most magnificent hospitality venues, and so, it is no surprise that the venue swept up at the recent Wedding Journal Readers Awards.
The hotel nabbed the award for Munster’s Wedding Venue of the Year and the most coveted Overall Wedding Venue of the Year! The award show took place at Ballsbridge Hotel Dublin, on June 24.
“We would like to thank each and every reader, friend and follower, who took the time to vote for us – we are truly thrilled and the celebrations are ongoing in East Cork!
“We’re committed to making your wedding day a precious, memorable and happy event – it’s all about you; your day, your way.”
The family-owned, independent, four-star hotel is surrounded by majestic scenes you couldn’t replicate anywhere else; a golden, sandy five-mile beach, a wondrous view of Ballycotton and its lighthouse.
“You and your needs are the foremost in our minds and we hope we’ve thought of everything to make your stay special!”
A beachside wedding might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of having a wedding at home in Ireland but with Garryvoe Hotel and staff it can become a reality. “There’s a certain soft light you only get at the beach – maybe it’s the wide endless skies. Maybe it’s the miles of glistening, reflective sea. Whichever it is, the results are beautiful, timeless photographs that will touch your hearts in the years to come.
“Our beautiful, five-mile sandy beach, Ballycotton Bay and our quiet attention to detail make the perfect romantic setting for your magical day and an unforgettable experience for your guests.”
And when the guests have all retired for the night – or at least the early morning – and the wedding day is over, what then? Garryvoe Hotel’s Bridal Suite is known as “the perfect place to end the day and begin the rest of your life”.
The split-level Ocean View Bridal Suite is 1,200 sq ft, making it the largest in the country, “with a view you couldn’t match anywhere”.
“On the lower level is the bedroom area with six-foot bed; dressing/makeup table; comfy sofa, armchair and chaise longue; breakfast table; fireplace, all with stunning views of Ballycotton Bay through the cushioned bay windows. Just off this room is the large ensuite with jacuzzi bath, separate shower and a two-person sauna/steam room – perfect for relaxing in after the big day itself!”
Newlyweds can then ascend the private staircase to the entertaining space, with a large exterior balcony, huge, lounge sofas, books, candles, a fireplace, a telescope and dining facilities for up to 12 people. “It’s the perfect place for the bridal party to host family and friends the day after the wedding or a private dinner beforehand.
“At the Garryvoe, all our couples receive the Ocean View Bridal suite complimentary for two nights, not one: the first on the night of your wedding and the second on your first anniversary. Choose yours and we’ll make it your own.”
Garryvoe Hotel truly is a diamond in the crown of wedding venues.
