Cork Craft Month is almost over but there’s yet much more to enjoy, including the Cork International Hotel’s inaugural Cork Craft Show!
Craftspeople, calligraphers and upcycle enthusiast will be travelling from all across Ireland to showcase their wares and creations at the fittingly stunning venue.
The show will act as the new closing event to the month-long festival of creativity, where art meets practicality. Taking place on Saturday September 1 and Sunday September 2 from 11am to 5:30pm, exhibitors from all areas of craft will be showing off their products. And to round out your shopping experience, there will be a series of workshops, talks and demonstrations over the weekend, aimed at all craft enthusiasts and masters. Among them will be workshops in Beginners Modern Calligraphy, Upcycling and Zentangle.
Aaron Mansworth is the Group General Manager for Trigon Hotels. He says, “Cork Craft Month is a fantastic opportunity for talented designers to show off their work and for people to come together.
“It is organised and run by the Cork Craft and Design centre and is in its ninth year and we are delighted to join the wonderful month with the Cork Craft Show on the final weekend. We are really looking forward to seeing the hotel packed with colour and activity throughout the weekend!”
Tony Farrell is the Chairman of Cork Craft and Design, as well as a skilled and talented woodturner. “It’s also a vehicle to help ensure that we continue to preserve, encourage, nurture the special skills of the people working in the craft sector in Ireland today.
“The weekend will showcase the best in Irish craft, including woodturning, ceramics, pottery, art, furniture design, metal, glass and textiles.”
