Cork Airport is undoubtedly the international gateway to the South of Ireland, due to its unique location at the beginning of both Ireland’s Ancient East and the Wild Atlantic Way. The multi-award-winning airport has been recognised once again for its dedication in serving the people of Ireland and those visiting our beautiful and growing country, both for business and pleasure.
Cork Airport recently took home The Chairman’s Award 2018 at our very own The Rémy Martin Cork Business Awards 2018!
Chairman of the judging panel, John Minihan, decided the prestigious title should go to a business making amazing strides in developing the Cork market for people and companies. While there were a myriad of strong contenders, Cork Airport really stood out for its hard work in connecting the Island of Ireland to many popular destinations around the world and adding many connections to its Summer schedule.
Kevin Cullinane, Head of Communications at Cork Airport, said: “Cork Airport was delighted to accept The Chairman’s Award at the recent Cork Business Awards!
“Cork Airport is the country’s second busiest and best-connected international airport with connectivity to over 50 destinations, more than 2.4 million passengers will travel through Cork Airport this year, flying to destinations across the UK, Continental Europe and on the direct transatlantic service to Boston Providence with Norwegian.
“All the crew at Cork Airport are delighted with this latest recognition that Cork Airport is going places!
“Our Cork Business Award is currently on display at the Airport Services Desk in the Terminal at Cork Airport and will move shortly to our trophy cabinet in the Board Room.” Quick, check it out while you can!
In the last year, Cork Airport has also been named the Airport Council International’s Best Airport in Europe, serving under five million passengers, and was declared one of the friendliest airports in the entire world.
