The much anticipated arrival of one of Ireland’s most loved and well known luxury Irish menswear retail brands is here as Louis Copeland & Sons, officially opened its doors on Thursday 21st of November in Cork. Louis Copeland & Sons, who are experts in smart casual clothing and suiting, unveiled their new Cork store to an evening reception for friends and neighbours, on the premises, which runs between Academy and French Church Street in the heart of Cork City Centre.
The new menswear retailer is a very welcome addition to the city centre and boasts a bi-level full gentleman’s shopping experience. The lower level of the store showcases an extensive range of stylish smart-casual wear, from exclusive brands such as Belstaff, Hugo Boss, Paul and Shark and Barbour with the upper level reserved for the synonymous Louis Copeland suiting, with both ‘Ready to Wear’ and ‘Made to Measure’ options available, as well as a selection of shoes and accessories for any occasion.

Louis Copeland Senior along with son Louis Copeland Junior and the new Cork team were in attendance on the evening to welcome guests from the local Cork community, offering a selection of locally sourced “Cork Canapés” from Perry Street, Cafe with flowing flutes of Graham Norton Prosecco.
On the evening, Louis Copeland Snr stated “We are just thrilled to be here! My Father would be proud that we have returned the business to Cork where he crafted his trade in tailoring in the early 1920’s. He often shared fond memories of living and working in Cork and we are delighted to now share a part of this experience. For us, opening Leeside was the next obvious choice as it is a city with such a unique culture and vibrance, not to mention some very stylish men, that we look forward to welcoming through our doors over the coming weeks and months.”
The new Cork team is headed up by manager, and menswear retail expert, Nigel O’Sullivan who has been in mens fashion retail for many years, formerly owning his own shop in the Savoy Cork, which closed earlier this year. Nigel stated “For me, the opening of Louis Copeland & Sons Cork is a defining moment for the future of Cork City Centre retail , we have seen many closures in recent years and the arrival of this established Irish retail brand shows true confidence in retail revival for Cork.”
Nigel continued “We are flying it , it’s a real bonus for the men of Cork to have the Louis Copeland & Sons craft of fine tailoring and clothing now at their door – the feedback from customers so far has been fantastic! I worked with Louis many years ago in the flagship Capel Street store in Dublin and his attention to detail is second to none and is something that filters through to the whole team – so I can safely say you are in the best hands with us. Many men often shy away from fashion, not knowing what to wear or how to wear it – we can help you for any occasion from weddings to corporate events or a more relaxed day time look, to show you how to look sharp with confidence!”
