About The Club
The creation of The Club, a support and learning network founded by entrepreneur and business mentor Sian Horn promises to change all that. Having networked herself for years, she always felt there was something missing for business owners and start-ups to help them achieve their goals. Meeting people and exchanging business cards is just not enough. Sometimes you need a group of like minded spirited people that you can bounce ideas off or just catch up with on zoom to help cope with entrepreneurial burnout.
At a time when so many women are making the decision to leave the workplace to set up their own business, The Club wants to support them to succeed. Most businesses fail in the first few years and a lot of this is down to lack of research, preparation, information and knowledge of all the elements it takes to run a business by yourself. Enterprising can be hard work but with some effective guidance and mentoring it lightens the load and helps you deal with the days you might be overwhelmed.
The Club not only brings its members monthly practical training, but the opportunity to promote their businesses and be supported by like minded individuals that understand what they are going through. The Club prides itself in giving women support and knowledge to increase their confidence so you can be more visible, reach more customers and increase your income. The collaborative approach is one that Irish people have always been fond of, and The Club is no different.
Check out what Janna Mullaney of Sleepy Chicken had to say about the club:
After just three weeks in business I attended the first Women in Business Expo. It was such an amazing experience that I made it my New Year’s resolution to join The Club. I have been a member for 6 months. Since joining I’ve received market sponsorship, online and paper media coverage for my business, a growth in social media following and an award recognising my branding. But the really impactful changes are unquantifiable; true support from peers, blossoming friendships and a real sense of confidence in what I’ve created. The Club is such a unique place because it brings you together with women who can truly relate to what you are doing. It is a group where everyone is rooting for you and working with you. As a solo entrepreneur of an online business it can be hard to seek sound advice or get your business out there. Promoting a web store in this climate can sometimes feel like shouting into a void. I have been able to portray the full scope of my brand, which is a difficult task to achieve through a website in such a short time. The varied coverage of topics through workshops and online meetings has given me a lot of help in dealing with all aspects of my new business in a very short time frame. Financially, it has been my best investment as it is improving multiple areas in the running of and future plans for Sleepy Chicken. Often large scale services or courses in one specific area of business is not an investment a new SME can make so this is an excellent option for those starting their journey in business.
