On October 10, 2017, Woolshed Baa & Grill Cork, has been awarded the Irish Pubs Global Awards for the Best Sports Experience in Ireland, exceeding nine other shortlisted sports bars across the country. This is the second award for the Woolshed in the past three months, following the Best Bar to Watch the Match at the Sky Bar of the Year Awards.
Located on Sheares Street, the Woolshed is the only sports bar in Cork to show all the international games. Being true to their motto, “If it’s on, we’re showing it!”, Woolshed shows a vast variety of sports, including soccer, rugby, American football, basketball, baseball, ice hockey, handball, as well as GAA, and is the only place in Cork to watch NFL, AFL, and NRL games.
With a charm and unique friendliness of an Aussie-styled bar, Woolshed has become a hub for international communities to come together and bond over sports, as well as take part in the regularly hosted entertainment events, including Thursday night pub quizzes, Friday night music bingos, and various international parties.
Being a part of the bigger Mardyke Entertainment Complex, Woolshed continues the tradition of the award-winning venues within it, including Holy Smoke BBQ restaurant named the Best Newcomer in Munster at the Restaurant Association of Ireland and Mardyke Bowl shortlisted for the Best Entertainment Experience at the Irish Pubs Global.
