The Spring into Summer Ball was organised by Cork Rose Aishling O’Connor, Ronan Walsh and Gavin Farmer to help raise awareness and funds for Breakthrough Cancer Research. The event took place on Friday May 11 at the Cork International Hotel with over 200 people in attendance.
All proceeds from this event will go towards Breakthrough Cancer Research, which funds the efficient and effective development of new treatments for cancer. Breakthrough Cancer Research focus on translating lab discoveries into new treatment opportunities. “To this end, we work closely with clinicians throughout Ireland and abroad, so that our research is targeted at finding new options for poor prognosis and incurable cancers.”

Breakthrough Cancer Research have several new patient trials either already underway or due to begin in the coming months in the areas of Advanced Melanoma, Colorectal and Oesophageal cancers. The support will help the charity advance several other exciting programmes currently at the pre-clinical phase to the next stage.
