The new stage adaptation of Louise O’Neill’s devastating, yet incredible, novel, Asking For It, which shines an unflinching light on the experience of a young woman whose life is changed forever by a horrific act of violence, has been exceedingly well received since its previews at The Everyman.
#AskingForIt @EverymanCork is one of the best productions I've ever seen. Couldn't imagine how it would transfer from paper to stage but it absolutely did.
Breathtaking. Powerful. Important.
Huge praise to all the actors, @oneilllo and @landmarkireland

One night in a small town in Cork, where everyone knows everyone, things spiral terrifyingly out of control for leading character, Emma. What will happen now? To Emma? To her family? To the others?
The brave and brilliant book was adapted for the stage by Meadhbh McHugh in a collaboration with Annabelle Comyn, who also directs.
This production, performed by an outstanding cast of mainly young actors, is harrowing and stark, while simultaneously being a must-see event.
This timely production will have its world premiere on Friday June 15, the opening night of Cork Midsummer Festival, and continue until June 23.
