Fantastic Flavours Ice Cream Parlour Wins Best New Franchise of the Year – European Union Finance Monthly International M&A Awards, 2019

Finance Monthly International Magazine, has announced the Winners of the Finance Monthly M&A Awards 2019.

Our judging panel has awarded the coveted ‘Best New Franchise of the Year’ 2019 to Fantastic Flavours Ice Cream Parlour® of Youghal, Co. Cork, Republic of Ireland. Founded in 2013, by Irish-American Miceál O’Hurley and Ukrainian-born Oksana Shadrina, a husband and wife team, together they have built their handmade, artisan ice cream business into a brand with international recognition for quality and excellence. Beginning in 2019, Fantastic Flavours Ice Cream Parlour will be extending their footprint through franchising opportunities in the North American, Middle East, African and European Union markets.

“We started with nothing but an idea, hard work and very little capital in the aftermath of the collapse of the world economy and demise of the Celtic Tiger. My wife came to Ireland as a refugee from Ukraine in the aftermath of Russia’s illegal invasion, and I had to create a job, so we turned my 30-year hobby of making ice cream and Oksana’s corporate background in training and customer service into a start-up business. Now, only a few years later, we are growing beyond Ireland through franchise-partnerships” said Miceál. “It only goes to prove,” added Oksana, “that a good idea, superior product, hard work and great customer service pays-off.”
