Spotlight on Commercial Applications of Disruptive Research in Smart Medtech and Energy as Tyndall Hosts Technology Days in Dublin
Global leaders in medtech, connected health, energy management, autonomous vehicles, wireless sensors, 5G and future communications will convene in Dublin for Tyndall Technology Days on 24 October 2018. This event comes as the Irish government has acknowledged the leading role Tyndall plays in ICT research and innovation with the institute receiving additional core funding in Budget 2018.
Hosted at the Aviva Stadium, Dublin, the annual event showcases disruptive technologies, with leading innovators and entrepreneurs meeting to discuss commercial applications of ICT research and future technology requirements.
“Combining scientific innovation and commercial opportunities, Tyndall Technology Days has built a long-standing reputation in both business and research circles at home and internationally. This year Tyndall Technology Days brings together some of the brightest minds in medtech, ICT and energy to discuss and showcase the innovative technologies required to create a better future for society,” said Tyndall CEO Prof. William Scanlon.
Healthcare and smart medtech are among a number of priority sessions at 2018 Tyndall Technology Days, with Lee Swanström, Head of GI and Minimally Invasive Surgery at Oregon Clinic, Barry O’Reilly Obstetrician/Gynaecologist Sub-specialist in Urogynaecology at ASSERT Centre UCC, Arthur Cummings, Medical Director/Consultant Ophthalmologist at the Wellington Eye Clinic and Ronan MacLoughlin, Science Manager at Aerogen among the speakers. Hanley Energy’s Andrew Dobson, David McAuley of Bitpower and Beth Massey of the International Energy Research Centre (IERC) will be presenting on energy solutions for the future, while Peter Barry of Jaguar and Gearoid Hynes of Orreco will look at autonomous vehicle technology and artificial intelligence for human performance in sports, respectively.
