Engineering Your Talent Pipeline
On a national level, demand for engineering talent is outstripping supply. New graduates are being snapped up in to the workforce, and experienced engineers are highly prized assets. In order to address current talent supply options, is there more that can be done in the Cork Region? Are there avenues that have not yet been explored that would be worth investigating?
A FREE workshop in Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) on Thursday next, April 11th, will focus on identifying new options for the production of engineering talent in line with current and anticipated demand forecasts. Speakers include Dave Murphy, Executive Officer at PM Group, Padráig Leahy, of Engineer’s Ireland who will talk about industry needs, Michael Loftus, Faculty of Engineering & Science at CIT who will outline the engineering talent pipeline, and finally a summary of the key points outlined will be given by Dr Mary Moloney of CIT.
The 33rd Cork Mechanical, Manufacturing & Biomedical Engineering Exhibition will also take place in Cork Institute of Technology on April 11th in the magnificent setting of Nexus Hall. The theme of this year’s exhibition is ‘Engineering the Future in Global Environmental Innovation.” Admission is free and all are welcome.
