Dulce Bun House is home to some of the sweetest treats in the country! From sweet buns to simply delicious, freshly cooked pancakes and waffles, each one is guaranteed to satisfy any sweet tooth. All of their ingredients and baked goods are locally sourced and this eatery’s aim is to provide a unique and pleasurable experience to diners. Since opening, this establishment has given much back to the people of Cork and it is with great pleasure that we categorise them as an award-winning business.
Recently, Dulce Bun House took home The Cork New Business Award 2018 at our very own The Rémy Martin Cork Business Awards 2018!
“Having only been in this business less than a year – we opened Christmas week 2017 – we were simply thrilled at the achievement of such an accolade,” said Eileen Domiati, co-owner with Amin Domiati. “Having spent most of our careers in the publishing and media industry, owning a café was always on our Bucket List of ‘to-dos’. When the opportunity arose to have a property/business on one of the busiest streets in Cork City, it was simply a no-brainer. Having achieved this award already has been – excuse the pun – the icing on the cake! The award is currently positioned at our point of sale where it is visible by all who visit the house.”
This is a hectic time of year for the café – people stopping in for a nibble, while Christmas shopping; customers looking for something sweet for their festive visits to relatives – and so the team haven’t had a chance to celebrate their win yet. “We will more than likely go out all together before the year is out and celebrate, not only the success of the award, but also our first anniversary!
“Needless to say, the dedication of our hard-working staff and our manager, Martha, attributes to much of our success. Our children have also been quite patient, as the year and prior to opening has been full-on. Their keen interest in the business is also refreshing and their insights to the youth of the city has been pivotal in some of our decision-making.”
Dulce Bun House is now open on Oliver Plunkett Street, seven days a week. Pop in for a sweet bite!
