Massive Massey Tractor raffle Launch
Be part of something special this month and make a visit to the Arboretum garden and lifestyle centre for the official launch of the Carlow to Cork Tractor Club events for 2019. The Carlow to Cork Tractor Club have been raising money for the past 15 years for CRMF Crumlin Children’s hospital. To date, the club have raised over 300,000 euro through their annual run. This year they’ve decided to add to their fundraising, starting with a raffle prize of a fully restored vintage
Massey Ferguson-135 tractor or to the value of the tractor. The tractor will be on display in the Arboretum for the clubs launch party and the Massive Massey Tractor raffle Tickets will be available to purchase on the day. Main organiser Brendan Byrne said “We have very exciting plans for this year’s tractor run and we will reveal all at our launch party. We would love to see families come out for this free event and support Crumlin Children’s hospital in the process. ” Jimmy D is also one of the organisers and he explained why they have continued to support Crumlin each year ” when you visit Crumlin Children’s hospital and see for yourself what it’s like and the great work the hospital does, there’s no doubt in your mind about doing all you can to help. We have a wonderful club of people involved and we all pay our own way on all tractor runs, no exceptions, with every cent raised going directly to Crumlin.” Jimmy added, “Our motto is – we won’t stop until the last child leaves Crumlin!”
Lisa Nicole Dunne, CEO of CRMF Crumlin, explained why fundraisers like the tractor run are so important – “CMRF Crumlin receives no government funding so we rely entirely on the public and fundraisers. 150,000 children on average walk through the doors of our hospital every year and they need vital support. The money from fundraisers have helped us fund 43 research grants in 2018 into vital support to help children suffering from life threatening and life-limiting illnesses.”
The family friendly launch is open to all and will include lots of fun for all the family. The launch will take place on Saturday, February 23rd, in the Arboretum lifestyle and garden centre starting at 2pm. KCLR will broadcast live from the launch from 2pm and it’s expected to be a wonderful event.
