THE CORK BUSINESS AWARDS 2017

CORK'S LARGEST BUSINESS AWARDS EVENT CELEBRATES ITS 11TH YEAR

The Cork Business Awards 2017 is the largest business awards event in Cork City and County with the largest prize fund and number of awards. The event is benefiting from its 11th year in honouring Cork business people and from 2017 it will incorporate a series of new categories in an expansion of its awards programme that is consistent with the expansion of Cork from a business and employment perspective. The most influential of business leaders in Cork will be in attendance at The Cork Business Awards 2017 and 500 guests will attend the black tie event with senior Government Ministers in attendance and representatives of the Diplomatic Corps, the Irish Defence Forces and representatives of all elements of business, civic, cultural and educational life in Cork and Ireland will be invited.

The Cork Business Awards 2017 will take place on Saturday November 4th 2017 and the venue is The Convention Centre at the Clayton Hotel Silver Springs. Business Cork magazine which is the leading business magazine in Cork is the promoter of The Cork Business Awards 2017.

The Publisher of Business Cork and organiser of The Cork Business Awards 2017 Michael Mulcahy said “I believe it is the right time to continue to expand the awards programme that I created ten years ago into a more diverse awards programme that allows the 45,000 Cork businesses be part of it. We have looked very carefully at the categories and ensured that all areas of Cork business, social, civic, voluntary and charitable life can be included and in particular that the awards will honour Cork business people and Cork businesses who deserve to be recognised. For the first time also we intend to make an award per town for a business in every town in Cork and this is ensuring that we embrace the view that Cork as a location has the exceptional potential to market itself as a region of 540,000 people with an exceptional city and county that works cohesively together. We will be working with some great sponsors for these awards and essentially ensuring that every part of Cork is recognised. We will be announcing our guest speaker for the event in the coming weeks and I believe our guests will be very pleased with the person that we have chosen for this event”.

The Chairman of the Judging Panel Dr. Chris Coughlan of HP Ireland said “It is a great honour for me as a Corkman to Chair the Judging panel again this year and we are delighted to launch the awards and call for nominations for each of the categories. People and businesses can nominate and it is acceptable for self nominations also from any person or business that wishes to nominate themselves. I am particularly delighted that the awards again this year include each town in County Cork and each suburb of our City so that recognition of one business per area is also going to be achieved this year. I will be announcing the full panel of Judges for the awards in the coming weeks and I am very pleased that our 2017 Judges will come from all sectors of Cork life”.
